Setting Sail in the Sea of Law
——My Internship Experience in Jianjia Law Firm
Mr. Jiang Ping once said,” A lawyer is a symbol of the civilization in rule of law of a nation, thriving practice of law makes a prosperous country.” From his word, it can be seen that lawyers play a decisive role in the legal construction of one nation and even in the process of development of the society. Lawyers, the bodyguards of justice, apply laws to analyze reasons, safeguard legal rights, protect the weak and claim civil rights. As for common people, lawyers are the trust ones who are able to preserve their interests; as to a nation, lawyers are the hard core who will boost the wheel of legal construction rolling forward.
Since long before, I have admired and yearned for lawyers that manoeuvre among various groupings with the sword of law on the court. Thus, I chose law as my major, which provides me with a chance to further approach the career. In recent two months’ internship in Jianjia Law Firm, I have obtained and benefit a lot.
Internship is a must, through which we can get to know the society and consolidate our knowledge in practice, for every undergraduate; meanwhile, it is also a means for students of testing our professional skills, from which we can learn much knowledge that cannot be learn in classroom so that we can broaden both our horizon and mind. Laying a solid foundation for the further entrance into the society, internship, which makes us mature from the ignorant youth to office worker who can integrate into the society, is the first step to the operating position. With regard to the students in law major, practice is especially important. Lots of work in the practice of law is not much the same as math or philosophy so that much practical experience cannot be gained just through books and class. Because of the strong practicalness of law that emphasizes principle and legal value, we must be equipped with not only the high level of academies and quality, but also some practical experience if we want to really realize the justice and fair etc.
Two months’ internship in Jianjia is about to end. When I retrospect this period, I deeply rejoice that I choose the right place of internship. In all fairness, I have really achieved my goal and obtained the value of the internship in recent 2 months when I get to know the working environment and procedures for the future job. I get the all-round view of the characteristic and the working content of the lawyer, as well as some working experience, all of which can let me know and handle more about the future job.
I was deeply shocked and infected by Jianjia’s comfortable and neat working surroundings, harmonious and friendly working relationships as well as high working efficiency. All the practicing lawyers in Jianjia are equipped with solid basis and attainments of law. No matter the law defense on the court or the dealing of non-litigation business, the sagacity and shrewd with meticulosity of a person in law business is showed everywhere, which have me notice the weakpoints of myself and inspire to continue the study of law constantly. With 2 months’ work, I am quite familiar with the whole procedures of dealing with a case, the writing form of all sorts of legal instrument and the search method of documents, laws and regulations through personally experiencing the treating processes of real cases. With helping several lawyers with related complementary work, I learned how to analyze a case and how to find the focus of dispute and sally port… Many thanks to every lawyer’s trust on me, for that without experiencing those cases by myself and the guidance of them, I cannot benefit so much. “Everything must be only done then been understood profoundly.” Now I understand the real meaning of the word.
Besides the cultivation of the working ability, another more important gain is developing an idea or another word, a belief: “Enthusiasm and sense of responsibility”, Jianjia’s firm philosophy.
“Life cannot leave the voice of ideal, while enterprise cannot separate with enthusiasm.” Life without ideals must be a dull life; people leave enthusiasm will lead a dull life just as a pool of stagnant water without hope and vitality; their career will also devoid of glory as epics; their life cannot bloom splendidly as the summer flowers. The life of fighters dooms to be bright, burning with heroic spirit and sprinkling all their talent with the influence of such enthusiasm. It is the enthusiasm that makes people in Jianjia treat justice and fairness as their belief, guiding them to step in the sacred palace of law; also because of such enthusiasm, their talent is quenched and sparkles a kind of colorful gloss of life just as a sword plunders in the sky; again on the account of this enthusiasm, not only their career, but the life continues existing in the color of high-spirited passion…
On the aspect of the sense of responsibility, a lawyer has once said, “there are two kinds of lawyers, one is responsible and the other is not. The one without responsibility just be in charge the work on the court; however, the one who have a sense of responsibility will devote all his energy to the case for the sake of his client’s right and trust.” I believe these sentences I can keep in mind for a lifelong time. Such pure heart for cultivating justice, such lifetime wish for dedicating oneself to law and such sincere mind aiming at helping those who are in troubles, provide lawyers with courage to shoulder the obligation to protect and maintain the dignity of law. Sense of responsibility makes people never give up and struggle for ever.
Now, my internship in Jianjia is going to come to an end and I will leave for another journey. The sadness and sorrow of leaving have lingered in my heart. I will never forget this place full of awe-inspiring righteousness and keep those lawyer teachers and their guidance in mind. Wherever I am in future, whether I will be a lawyer or not, I will always remember this place which arouses my initiative passion and dream, tells me the charm of the practice of law and teaches me the law spirit of shrewd, caution, broad and level without selfishness.
